Some time ago I pulled apart a large linen apron of mine, and made a pinny for each of my children. They love to use them whenever we bake together in our tiny London kitchen.

I improvised these ones with quilting cottons for pockets and details, and had enough of the original apron left to make myself a very plain thing which has been relegated to the garden shed. It’s very useful there, though it’s asking for sturdy pockets.

I think it’s about time I had a pinny of my own. Only I cannot decide on a pattern. I’d like a good old fashioned thing, with pockets and ruffles. Do you have a favourite?
