Have you only a minute? Watch the preview.
Quilting Triangles, like Quilting Squares is a guide to patchwork quilting, this time in the more challenging traditional “broken dishes” pattern. And, like Squares and all of the schoolhouse movies, the picture is matched by simple pattern. (If you have only a minute, watch the trailer!)
If you’ve already got your pattern from the appleturnovershop – wonderful! Let’s get started.
With great joy, I present the first homemade picture in The Knitting Series. (Did you catch the one-minute preview?) “Cabled Handwarmers” is divided into a set of nine tutorials to take you through the project, step-by-step. Have you already got your cabled handwarmers project kit? You’re in the right place to get started with your knitting lessons.
We filmed the Knitting Series in my mother’s bright studio in Deep Cove, and like the Quilting Series, the camera looks over my shoulder as I work, to help you see, step-by-step, every method needed to cable-knit your own handwarmers and mittens. Little touches of animation write across the screen to clarify techniques.
The kits are all sold out – but you can still pick out your favourite pattern in the shop.
For those of you who have been wishing for a pair of cosy mittens, and the skills to make them, I so am pleased show you appleturnover’s latest movie, “Cabled Mittens.” (Just bought the cabled mittens project kit? This is the place to work along with the movie tutorials! Go right ahead.)
If you just have a minute, you might enjoy the preview of the movies in the Knitting Series.

For these movies we’ve added the dimension of animation, so another aspect of my art practice has reappeared. Lovely. We’re not drawing so much as writing on the screen, to help illustrate the old techniques clearly. Typography! I adore it.
