snowman
Out in the garden, enchantingly transformed by snow, we followed a fine tradition to build an old fashioned snowman. A hat borrowed from my sweetheart, a carrot from the kitchen, coal from the shed, branches from the silver birch.
Storybook. We had an excellent morning sledging on the village hill, too. The wooden sledge is brilliant, I took it for a first tentative ride to test it’s speed, and then the children were off!
Our tall child made a snow dog. I think he’s an charming creature.

Oh my goodness - that is some perfect snowman! It looks like it was drawn into that photo!
Glad to hear that you’re all having fun this winter in the British countryside. Here, we’re having our first early taste of spring already, with lots of sun. But of course, we know it’s not quite here to stay just yet.
Sending warmest hugs to you all!
ohh Elisa, this looks so heavenly. when i see this i’m almost convinced that i need snow now ;-) i haven’t built a snowman in years, yours looks so picturesque… have a lovely day/evening, xo, Helene
it is like an illustration! the little one called it frosty and was pleased. and repaired it when the head came off in the night! i’m happy to get a little bit of winter, we’ve had such a mild one til now. hugs to all of you, jennifer!
helene, it’s very sweet to have a little bit of winter, it will make a nice contrast when spring arrives! this snow is excellent for sledging and snow-building in. my only regret is that i never got hold of a pair of cross-country skis to head out on the hills, they would be exquisite.
