if we knew we were already living at the edge –

if we knew we were already living at the edge of the future we want to see, how would we live this moment?

if every action matters, what shall this day look like? what would we cease? what would we do more of? what would we let go of? what could we alter, in the course of the next month? who could we speak to, to share our ideas on what’s possible? who has the skills that could help us? what could we put our support behind, to take steps toward that future in concert with each other?

what does that future that we are feeling, now, together, look like? what can we see before us, when we turn in a circle, that looks like the future we want? what are we eating, what are we wearing? how are we living? how do we get around and why do we go there? what is the work that matters today?

how is that feeling, of being in the midst of massive transformation, of tremendous learning, in all its messy creation? how can we calm our own nervous systems and how can we help each other?

what resources are useful to draw on, now? how can we reach them? who is already living in ways that we long for?

now that we know that we are, in our own very particular positions, critical elements to contribute to growing this movement — after all, we are alive right now! — what are our particular talents, connections, passions? what do we have influence over, today, tomorrow, next week? what quieter voices can we amplify?

what’s the next small step we can take toward the future we want to live in?

these questions, and their lived answers, form the small work.
